PIANO 2023: Competitor

 

Takumi Kurosaki started playing the piano at the age of five. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts (Geidai). He completed the master’s course at the same university with top honours. He was awarded with the Kreutzer Prize, the Postgraduate Acanthus Music Prize and the Klavier Grand Prize of the University of the Arts upon completion of his postgraduate studies. He graduated from the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar with the highest marks in piano solo and chamber music respectively. He received a grant from the Japanese Agency for Cultural Affairs’ Overseas Study Program for Emerging Artists when he studied in Germany. Has studied with Rikako Oka, Yukio Yokoyama, Shinnosuke Tashiro, Hideyo Harada, Yuya Tsuda, Balazs Szokolay and Thomas Steinhöfel. He won the Grand Prize (1st prize) and Citizens’ Jury Prize at the 8th Sengawa Piano Audition; Special diploma at the 12th International Piano Competition of Lyon (France), Special prize at the 6th Livorno International Piano Competition (Italy). Has performed with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra. Performed solo recitals and other concerts in Japan and in Germany. From the academic year 2023 he will be a lecturer at the Music High School attached to the Faculty of Music of the Tokyo University of the Arts (Geidai).
