PIANO 2023: Competitor

 

Born in Bulgaria, the concert pianist received his first piano lessons at the age of five from Antoaneta Vodenitscharowa at the ‘National School of Art’ in Pleven, where he graduated with top marks in 2012. Since 2012 he has been studying at the University of Music and Theatre in Hamburg with Professor Stepan Simonian and from October 2019 with Professor Alexandar Madzar. He also studied with Professor Eliso Virsaladze at the Fiesole School of Music in Italy. The Bulgarian pianist has achieved great success in international competitions, the most recent being the First Prize and Audience Prize at the International Piano Competition in Epinal. Among others, the Liszt Prize at the “Franz Liszt” Competition in Weimar, the “Grand Prix” at the “Franz Schubert Competition” in Russe, Bulgaria 2009, and the 1st Prize at the International “Young Virtuosi” Competition in Sofia, Bulgaria 2012 and the 2nd and 2 special prizes at the “Pantscho Wladigerov” Competition in Shumen, Bulgaria 2015. This was followed by numerous concerts (solo recitals and with orchestra) in Vienna, Weimar, Mannheim, Hamburg, Bremen, Warsaw, Tokyo, Bucharest, Sofia, Russe.
