Shuhei Aoshima

PIANO 2023: Competitor

 

Born in Yokohama, Japan, Shuhei Aoshima started playing the piano at the age of four. After studying with Susumu Aoyagi at the Music High School attached to the Tokyo University of the Arts and at the Tokyo University of the Arts (Tokyo Geidai), he was admitted to the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP) where he studied piano, accompagnement and écriture with Frank Braley, Haruko Ueda, Jean Marie Cottet and Yves Henry. He won 2nd prize and the prize for the best performance of a commissioned piece at the 5th Takamatsu International Piano Competition and received 6th prize at the 2nd Shigeru Kawai International Piano Competition. He also won 1st prize at the 32nd Kanagawa Piano Competition. He has played with the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, the Geidai Philharmonia Orchestra and the Seto Philharmonic Orchestra.
