PIANO 2023: Competitor
Hiroki Arakawa studied piano at Tokyo University of the Arts in Japan under Prof. A. Sako. He attended the master classes of Prof. R. Nattkemper, Prof. Z. Niederdorfer, W. Fong and U. Weyand at the Pianale Junior 2018 (Fulda, Germany), of Professors H. Gimse, C.I. Hadland and L.O. Andsnes at the Prof. Jiri Hlinka Piano Academy (Bergen, Norway) in 2023. He won first prize at the national convention of the 68th Student Music Concours of Japan in 2014 (Yokohama, Japan) and third prize at the national convention of the 71st Student Music Concours of Japan in 2017. He won a scholarship and the jury prize at the Pianale Junior 2018 (Fulda). He also won first prize at the First Piano Competition of Tokyo University of the Arts in 2021 (Tokyo). He also received the audience prize at the 9th Minoru Nojima Yokosuka Piano Competition in 2022 (Yokosuka, Japan). He performed at the Morning Concert with the Philharmonia Orchestra of Tokyo University of the Arts (2022).
